I have started accepting my role as "backup photographer" quite frequently. On a few occasions (like this family session) The photographer has backed out last minute and can't make the photoshoot that the client had scheduled. This morning was the same type of situation..

It was 8:30 am and I woke up to a phone call. It was a friend I grew up with asking if I could take their family photos.. NOW. They were all dressed and ready and their photographers gear had just stopped working. They figured that since they were already there that they would get the photos done anyways. I can be there in 10 minutes I responded. Luckily Conner was home that day and I could easily slip out for a quick photo session. Within 20 minutes we were climbing down a hill and finding the perfect trees in a random location by my home.

In less than an hour from the phone call we were done and they were on their merry little way before their parents could realize where they had been off to.

I love being people's first call when they hit a crisis. It gives me a chance to prove myself and product great images. I am now doing some bridals for the engaged couple's wedding in February.

My friend Clay and his wife Krystin have such a beautiful love story. Luckily for me, I knew them both before they really knew each other. There never were two people more perfectly fit for one another. I have the pleasure of working with his wife at a girls camp every year & my husband and Clay are in the same line of work. It is nice to have friends who just "get" what you are going through sometimes. Especially couple friends. So glad to have this fun family in our lives.

Jacob & Summer Padilla - Maternity Session - Apple Valley, CA

These two have such a love for life and one another. Their maternity session was so simple, yet so perfect. We got to the location and I am sure they were thinking, THIS is it?? (I get that a lot when I am in charge of the location) You see, I believe in simplicity when choosing a landscape for portraits and usually people are wanting a waterfall, or a gorgeous rocky mountain. This location was an empty lot towards the edge of town.  I live in the desert, SO basically dirt. But I love how the bare landscape lets you focus on what matters most. THE PEOPLE IN THE PHOTO. These two are gorgeous and deserved ALL the attention.

I am posting this after their son is born and I am scheduled to shoot his newborns soon! I am so excited to meet little Easton!

I met this lovely lady through LulaRoe. She was in my first photoshoot for a group of girls needing photos for their social media posts. She was so full of life and so FUN. I am glad that I got to shoot her family photos this year! Her husband is the sweetest firefighter & her son is such a spitfire and TOTAL boy. I had a blast in the freezing mountain air getting some shots before my fingers froze.

Checkout her lularoe page here. She carries the CUTEST clothes and I would love to share some love with her.

Sara is one of those people who was born to be a mom. She is just a natural nurturer. I remember meeting her and thinking "wow, this girl never sits down". Sara is always trying to make you feel comfortable and taken care of. Her husband Corey is snarky and silly. He makes jokes and is a hard worker. These two as a team are unstoppable. It has been a joy to know them and to call them friends. I have seen Sara grow into motherhood as her family expanded from seeing her with Peyton, to the birth of her first son Jackson (and now her new baby Rowe)
This family is so special to me and it was so fun to capture some memories for their family.
